The issues we focus on are determined in a number of ways: government policy, evidence gathered by the Institute for Volunteering Research and others, and our own knowledge and experience.
However, most importantly, we gather information from our members who are working on the ground to support and encourage volunteering. You know better than anyone what is working and what needs to be changed.
So, please tell us what we should be working on and why! Examples of things we've worked on in the past, or are still engaged with, are
- removing red tape;
- volunteer driving;
- funding;
- volunteering and benefits;
- internships and job substitution;
- safeguarding; and
- volunteer rights.
