Community archives accreditation

Re Sample Question 2: Is there a fit with the community archives accreditation model developed by West Yorkshire Archive Service?

Why the contribution is important

I think the standard, or the accreditation manager, would need to provide guidance on how to access professional advice as 'the local archivist' of the example may not have the capacity to work so closely with all relevant groups in their area. Or are we looking to the curatorial adviser model here?

Maybe I am being pedantic but 'having professional advice' does not necessary equate to 'taking professional advice'!

Oh - and what are we meaning by 'professional'? - that is a whole other issue...

I do wonder if the group mentioned in question two of the example can be accredited, whether we local authority archivists should also stop considering ourselves as staff and start considering ourselves as 'redundant'
