This Dialogue is being hosted by The National Archives and managed by Janice Tullock Associates.

The Dialogue will take place from 6th Feb 2012 to 30th April 2012. Throughout the Dialogue, the National Archives will require that participants register with the site. Participants will be required to provide a username and email address. The username will be made public along with the comments made in the Dialogue. Please consider this when choosing a username. This information is collected in order to provide the National Archives and project partners with aggregate information related to what types of individuals and groups are participating in the Dialogue.

Traffic data is collected anonymously for the purposes of analysing visitor usage patterns; however, none of this data can be associated with your individual user identity within the dialogue. The National Archives and partners will use these analytics to assess the reach of the dialogue. All data will be managed by Janice Tullock Associates

Participants are reminded that the Dialogue is a public forum. Participants should therefore not post personally identifiable information such as telephone numbers on this website.

The contents of this Dialogue or any of the supporting documents are not to be used or distributed for any purpose other than to support the co-creation of an archives accreditation scheme. Neither should the dialogue or supporting documents be viewed as the policy of any of the project partners

All engagements should be undertaken in a positive and constructive manner.

You should engage in the co-creation process as an individual and not a representative of your organisation or sector, unless otherwise stated.

You must not submit contributions or provide edits to other contributions which:

Are considered likely to offend, provoke, or attack other users of this Dialogue

Are racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive, contain swear words, or are otherwise objectionable

Constitute a breach of copyright or amount to a defamation, or are a breach of the Data Protection Act or otherwise break the law or condone or encourage unlawful activity

Describe or encourage activities which could endanger the safety or well-being of others

Are written in anything other than English to enable the contents to be moderated

Contain content which could cause damage to a computer, software program, network or server

Supply information which reveals personal information about yourself or anyone else, including individuals’ phone numbers, addresses or email addresses

Are exact or close copies of entries already contributed, considered to be spam or commercial unsolicited advertising not connected to the archival record described

Are considered to be not within the purpose of this Dialogue

Contain links to other websites which do not contribute to the purposes of this Dialogue

Are for party political purposes

Reveal information to which an exemption under the Freedom of Information Act or Environmental Information Regulations may apply

Janice Tullock Associates reserves the right to delete, without warning, contributions which breach these rules.

Janice Tullock Associates will monitor the contents of this Dialogue however it cannot guarantee that there will be no offensive content on this Dialogue. By contributing text or images to the Dialogue, you grant The National Archives a non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, and publish your contribution on its website and in other publications by The National Archives. It will do so for the general good of the archive sector. If you do not want your contribution to be used in this way, please do not submit it to this Dialogue

By contributing text or images, you warrant that such text or images are your own original work or you have a licence from the author or other copyright owner of the work, they are not defamatory and do not infringe any English law. In contributing, you indemnify us against any claims made against us for: (a) infringement of any person’s Intellectual Property Rights; (b) defamation; or (c) for any other breach of any English law.

Any contributions to this Dialogue made by The National Archives staff in staff time and as a result of their employment as Crown servants are protected by Crown copyright. This in no way affects the provisions detailed above.
