Forward planning: to include parnterships?

Maybe it is an idea to include within the forward planning section (1.4) that archives should either plan to seek out supportive networks among their peer services/ other organisations and projects (level 1?), or to have actually made those links and have worked collaboratively (level 2?)

examples could be the Hull History Centre - Univeristy and local authority archives working together/ University archive working internationally on the AIMS digital project

or networks such as the TIG (Theatre Information Group) for performaing arts archives/ archivists

Why the contribution is important

This sort of collaborative working/ seeking out of partnerships bolsters:

-funding applications
- professional development for the archive staff

I think in terms of becoming an accredited service it is probably important to show that a service is ambitious in its development and is interested in the wider archives sector, as both of these would demonstrate that an archive looking to learn and work with other services.

goes back below the parapet...
